Dr Atiya Kamal

Atiya is currently a Psychology Lecturer at Birmingham City University. She has worked as a Behavioural Psychologist in Uganda as part of The Change Exchange program.

Dr Tom Bashford

Tom is an NIHR funded Clinical Research Fellow and Specialist Registrar in Anaesthesia at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He is part of the health partnership between CUH and Yangon General Hospital, Myanmar.

Dr James Whitehorn

James is a Consultant Medical Microbiologist & Infectious Diseases Physician at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He is part of an ongoing global health partnership between CUH and Mulago Hospital, Uganda.

Dr Riikka Hofmann

Riikka is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Education, Cambridge. Part of her research entails professional learning and change in educational and healthcare settings.

Dr Tollulah Oni

Tolullah Oni is a Public Health Physician Scientist and urban epidemiologist. She is also a Clinical Senior Research fellow with the MRC Epidemiology Unit.

Dr Sani Aliyu

Sani is a Consultant in the Infectious Diseases Department at Addenbrooke’s. His research interests include molecular diagnostics, antibiotic stewardship and healthcare associated infections.

Professor Dame Sally Davies


Sally Davies is a former Chief Medical Officer to the British Government and currently serves as the UK Special Envoy on Antimicrobial Resistance. She is also the newly appointed master of Trinity College, Cambridge.

Dr Sarah Steele 



 As Deputy Director of the Intellectual Forum at Jesus College, Cambridge, Sarah’s research examines the interface of international relations, global health and law.

Dr James Smith

David is currently the Head of the Anaesthesia Division in the Department of Medicine, Cambridge. He is also Principal Investigator in the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre, and Co-Chair of the Acute Brain Injury Programme at the University of Cambridge.

Dr Freya Jephcott


A Junior Research Fellow in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Freya’s work uses epidemiological and anthropological methods to explore disease outbreak surveillance and response systems.

Professor Peter Hutchinson

Peter is NIHR Research Professor at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Cambridge and Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. His research interests include traumatic brain injury and functional brain imaging.

Dr Silvia Argimon

Silvia is a Genomic Epidemiologist at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. Her research focuses on population level pathogen genome sequences in the context of global surveillance and antimicrobial resistance,

Edwin Panford-Qainoo

Edwin is a Pharmacist and recipient of the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer Global Health Fellowship. He is currently completing a PhD at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

Dr Rowan Burnstein

Rowan is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Her specialist interests are Intensive Care Management of Neurosciences and Major Trauma.
