Volunteering overseas is a great opportunity to develop your medical, leadership and management skills, as well as sharing your existing skills with others, but setting this up can be complicated and time consuming.

However far you may have got on your volunteering journey, we can support you – whether you have just started thinking about volunteering overseas or if you are already back from a placement and looking for new opportunities.

We can also provide grants of up to £500 to support staff from CUH and Cambridgeshire to volunteer overseas. To apply for a grant please download and complete the Volunteer Grant Scheme form, returning this to the CGHP team. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

We also have volunteering opportunities based in our Cambridge office.

We are a small and vibrant team working to make a big impact in global health. We are always looking for willing, enthusiastic and passionate individuals to contribute to our work. You can make a difference by:

  • Providing administrative support in our office or from home
  • Fundraising for us
  • Hosting overseas visitors.

Working with us in Cambridge will help you to:

  • Develop critical skills needed for working in the charity sector
  • Learn about global health and international development
  • Meet new people with similar interests

“I would definitely recommend international volunteering. Personally it has been an invaluable experience- I feel lucky to work at Addenbrooke’s and have the opportunity to be able to take part. Professionally I have formed links with other nursing staff around the globe, forming lifelong friendships and professional contacts.”
