4th East of England Global Health Conference

Building resilient healthcare that empowers people

Learn from, share ideas and connect with the people exploring creative and sustainable strategies to build resilient healthcare systems that empower us all.

Back for another year and better than ever, you are warmly invited to attend the 4th East of England Global Health Conference, sponsored by Costello Medical. Whatever your interest or role in global health, don’t miss this inspiring and informative opportunity to share ideas and connect with practitioners from all levels and backgrounds.

This year’s conference focuses on building healthcare systems in the face of the disproportionate impacts of climate change and the social and commercial determinants of health. You’ll hear from global health experts as well as those just starting their journey as we discuss forward thinking approaches to some of the world’s biggest health challenges. We’ll explore the role of innovation, service design and access, and why a willingness to learn globally is key to changing the global health landscape for the better.

Poster competition

New for 2024, the poster competition is an opportunity to recognise, share and celebrate the many different ways of contributing to and participating in global health. With cash prizes up for grabs, the deadline to enter is Tuesday 12 November 2024. Poster competition details.

Keynote speakers

Pippa Heylings

Member of Parliament for South Cambridgeshire, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson (Energy Security and Net Zero)

Pippa Heylings was elected to South Cambridgeshire District Council in 2018. As co-chair of the local COVID-19 coordination team, she helped to create a strong sense of community and resilience in the region’s villages. Pippa’s commitment to community service was fostered at a young age, supporting her GP Dad on his rounds. She saw the importance of a strong, well-funded NHS and safety nets for the most vulnerable in society. She developed a passion for the environment and has spent 20 years working internationally to help reduce poverty and tackle climate change. Her career as a mediator has seen her work with national governments and the UN on some of the world’s most complex environmental challenges.
