Long-term Voluntary (LTV) Placement
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Duration: 2- 4 months
Suitable for: Nurses, pharmacists, biomedical scientists or doctors with interest and experience in Infection Prevention Control
About the placement:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a health partnership team working internationally to address the challenges of infection in the busy field of maternal health in Uganda.
Infectious diseases are a common cause of death and morbidity in postnatal women and neonates in Uganda. This partnership is working to strengthen antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) and infection prevention control (IPC) measures in two maternal referral hospitals in the capital city of Kampala and associated general hospitals and clinics. This will have a direct impact on the clinical care of women and children in Uganda, but also helps to address the growing concern for antimicrobial resistance on a global scale.
