CUH Lead Pharmacist – Antimicrobials, Reem Santos, began her Addenbrooke’s career in 2002, later specialising in microbiology and infectious diseases in 2007. In 2019, Reem became involved in the Kampala – Cambridge Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) and Infection Control Partnership. Over the past year, Reem has played a focal role in the development of this health partnership, visiting Uganda to deliver workshops and hosting Ugandan partners here in Cambridge, all with the support of Cambridge Global Health Partnerships (CGHP).
As a result, last year Reem was awarded the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Global Health Fellowship to champion the fight against antimicrobial resistance worldwide.
