CGHP members are people who’ve signed an agreement to contribute their time, skills and expertise to a named CGHP-supported project or health partnership, or to a specific global health opportunity with CGHP’s support. Becoming a member is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical, leadership and management skills as you work in partnership with other healthcare professionals across the world.
Whether you have just started thinking about global health work or you already have some experience and are looking for new opportunities, CGHP can support you. We help ensure that your contributions are safe, effective and ethical – for you, our partners and their patients. You’ll receive advice, guidance and training, alongside practical support (e.g., with arranging leave).
If you’re interested in becoming a member please read through the process below and complete our Expression of Interest form.
We are committed to making CGHP a welcoming space for all diverse groups and actively encourage applications from underrepresented communities.

To hear more about what we do, where we work and the ways to get involved, join an online drop-in session on Teams at 12pm on the first Wednesday of every month. Everyone is welcome and you can join via this link.
If you have questions in the meantime please email info@cghp.org.uk
Other ways to participate
CGHP provides grants of up to £500 for individuals and up to £1000 for a project to enable NHS staff working in the East of England to undertake voluntary work in global health. We also provide funding for healthcare professions students to complete an elective placement in a CGHP-supported partnership.
Volunteering in our Cambridge office
If you’re not sure about participating in a health partnership, you could volunteer your time to support our Cambridge-based team. This could include administrative support in our office or from home, fundraising for us, or hosting overseas visitors. It can be a good way to:
- Develop critical skills needed for working in the charity sector
- Learn about global health and international development
- Meet new people with similar interests
If you’re interested in getting involved with CGHP please email the team info@cghp.org.uk.
“I would definitely recommend international volunteering. Personally it has been an invaluable experience- I feel lucky to work at Addenbrooke’s and have the opportunity to be able to take part. Professionally I have formed links with other nursing staff around the globe, forming lifelong friendships and professional contacts.”
