What does a Fellowship involve?

The Fellowships are a wonderful opportunity to:

  • Have funded time (up to one session per week) to dedicate to global health activities.
  • Gain understanding of global healthcare and skills in team working, leadership and management and governance, alongside your speciality knowledge and skills.
  • Experience partnership working with healthcare professionals in the Global South within an existing health partnership supported by CGHP. The GHFs will be expected to work within an established health partnership working on existing projects. The specific work undertaken will depend on the interests of the GHF and agreement of CGHP and a CUH global health supervisor – this may involve teaching, audit, guideline development and research.
  • Be offered development against a number of specialty specific curriculum competencies.
  • Undertake an international partnership visit with your global health supervisor.
  • Become a champion for global health within your CUH department and profession, and across the East of England region.
  • Join a support network for international staff working in the East of England with involvement in induction and mentorship.

“I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to visit Uganda so early in my fellowship; the trip has most definitely inspired me to continue to build upon the AMS interventions work over the coming year.”
