Job title: Programme Officer

Location: Hybrid working to include days in the office on Cambridge Biomedical Campus

Salary: £28,000 – 31,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

About the role:

This is an exciting and busy role with broad responsibilities across the programme and includes project management and administration. You will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of an extensive portfolio of activities to strengthen health systems and improve the quality of health care globally, working closely with our members (NHS staff volunteers) and partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing management, finance and administrative support for the health partnerships including support for virtual and remote training and mentorship activities.
  • Providing comprehensive management and stewardship of CGHP members. Ensuring members’ data is stored safely and securely on the CRM database.
  • Providing support to grant management, especially expenditure tracking and donor reporting.
  • Supporting Gender Equality and Social Inclusion activities.
  • Working with the Director and Fundraising Lead to develop and write funding proposals.
  • Working with the Communications Lead to develop communications materials and publications including social media, to maintain and update website, and to support designing and purchase of branded promotional material.
  • Working with the whole team to successfully implement events.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate and expanding team at a pivotal time in their development. As Fundraising Officer, you will play a vital role in helping to secure funding across multiple income streams to support healthcare improvement projects in the UK and internationally.

You will work closely with the Fundraising Lead and wider team to grow support from trusts and foundations, individuals, corporate donors, and community fundraisers. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to build your skills across diverse fundraising activities, contribute to compelling funding proposals, and support stewardship and events.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing high-quality funding proposals and donor reports.
  • Providing excellent stewardship for supporters, including thanking and ongoing communication.
  • Researching and developing new income opportunities from trusts, corporates, and individuals.
  • Supporting the delivery of CGHP fundraising and stewardship events.
  • Promoting and managing CGHP’s Giving Circle and helping CGHP members with their own fundraising.
  • Working with the Communications Lead on fundraising campaigns and promotional materials.
  • Maintaining accurate records and financial data using a CRM database.

Position: Operations Manager

About the role:

This is an exciting new role that recognises our growth and development. As Operations Manager, you will lead on risk, financial, and operational management across CGHP’s projects and programme. Working closely with the team, partners and finance colleagues, you’ll ensure the smooth, effective, and compliant running of the programme.

You will play a central role in maintaining and improving systems, supporting compliance, and enabling the effective use of donor funds. You will work across departments and partners to build capacity, embed good practice, and help to deliver high-quality and impactful global health programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on financial oversight and operations processes for the charitable programme.
  • Ensuring policies, procedures and systems support safe and effective programme delivery.
  • Managing financial compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and donor reporting.
  • Supporting partner organisations with finance and grant management.
  • Leading on audits and financial reporting with support from finance colleagues.
  • Developing and implementing systems to support efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Contributing to budget development for grants and ensuring alignment with cost recovery.
  • Communicating complex finance issues clearly to non-finance staff.
  • Supporting and training partners’ finance staff and building capacity.
