Critical Care

Critical care refers to specialised medical care provided to patients who are critically ill or injured and require close monitoring and intensive treatment. Critical care physicians – or intensivists – and critical care nurses provide multidisciplinary care to diagnose and manage these patients, typically in an intensive care unit (ICU), cardiac care unit, trauma unit or emergency department. Critical care doctors and nurses currently work within the CGHP-supported SCALE Critical Care Partnership with Uganda.
